Stefano Boeri Architetti’s ever-evolving project plans presented a tough challenge. We had only 16 days to produce eight fully detailed images, incorporating their frequent updates seamlessly into our work. Each adjustment required precision and adaptability, ensuring that every detail aligned with Boeri’s vision.
One of the core requirements was the precise positioning of each plant in the vertical forests, a signature element of Boeri’s green architecture.
Additionally, we needed to construct the entire scene around the buildings from scratch, including the urban spaces and interiors, to deliver a cohesive and authentic portrayal of the design.
Despite being a commercial project, for some of the visuals we chose unusual yet authentic touches, like a yellowish sky that mirrored the dusty air of a desert, capturing the true essence of the location.
It wasn’t what anyone expected.
But it paid off, and thankfully, the client loved it.
We ensured botanical accuracy by matching plants to the botanist’s references and acquiring new assets when necessary. We employed parametric plugins to scatter greenery on balconies precisely according to design specifications, achieving the natural look signature of Stefano Boeri’s vertical forests.
We designed a vibrant urbanscape featuring detailed surfaces, fountains, and public areas, despite minimal initial references. For the interiors, we used high-quality photographic material to render lively, realistic spaces, focusing on essential areas due to time constraints, ensuring a cohesive and inviting environment.
Keeping an open communication line with the client was crucial. We managed expectations and timelines through regular updates, phone calls, and emails, balancing project management with confidence to stay on track and ensure all objectives were met effectively, maintaining client satisfaction throughout the project.

The need to narrate our firm’s projects through high-quality images prompted us to work with external professionals with experience and training that no one in the studio had at the time. We considered several options, but the choice to work with The Big Picture was guided by the high quality of the images they produce.
The chance to showcase our designs with high-quality images, without having to implement specific skills and dedicated software and hardware in-house have allowed us to focus our attention and energy on designing.
Overall, we had a great experience in outsourcing images for our ongoing projects to The Big Picture, and they have shown great reliability, professionalism, and quality.
